Time to Talk Turkey
Some are serious runners; others are out for a leisurely stroll. Hundreds will be dressed in appropriately themed holiday outfits and others just can’t let go of that favorite Halloween costume. They will arrive by train, on bikes, via large parking lots, many before the break of dawn.
And, all to participate in the 7th annual Applied Materials Silicon Valley Turkey Trot in downtown San Jose on Thanksgiving morning – an event that is fast becoming a family-oriented tradition in the community.
There is something for everyone! A competition between companies to be the “Fittest Firm,” a race that pits police against firefighters, elite athletes out to set records, and a kids’ fun run with medals for everyone. There’s still plenty of time to register for this year’s Turkey Trot. Visit the web site today and sign up!
The best part is that all who registers to participate are supporting three very worthy charities that are helping to provide basic needs to Silicon Valley residents: The Second Harvest Food Bank, the Children’s Health Initiative, and the Housing Trust.
In the first six years of the Applied Materials Silicon Valley Turkey Trot, more than $1.5 million has been donated to the charities meeting the needs of local residents and communities within Silicon Valley.
Don’t miss the fun and the opportunity to help the cause… the Turkey Trot is the fastest growing road race around and you can be part of it this Thanksgiving morning. Even if you won’t be in the area, go ahead and register… do the race “virtually” and take advantage of the virtual goodie bag online.
