A Strong Ethical Foundation is a Competitive Advantage
As Ombudsman, it gives me great pleasure to share an award that has been hard-earned by each and every member of our workforce at Applied Materials. Today, the Company has been named to Ethisphere’s 2012 list of the World’s Most Ethical Companies. Ethisphere is a research-based business ethics institute and recognizes companies that go beyond making statements about doing business ethically and translating those words into action. This is the first year Applied has participated in the application process.
This award could not have been won without the strong ethical culture at Applied that each one of us works to achieve every day. Our collective commitment to modeling Applied’s core values, making ethical decisions, and speaking up so that ethics-related issues and concerns can be resolved has proven to set us apart from other companies.
It is with great appreciation that I extend my congratulations to members of our workforce. Together, we can celebrate this achievement. It is a privilege to be recognized as ethical leaders in our industry and as a global company. By setting, communicating and living up to the standards that allow all of us to excel, we create not only a successful company, but one with a competitive advantage.
