Applied Materials' Christi Marrufo shares her career path in the high tech industry in a recent issue of Workforce Diversity for Engineering and IT Professionals magazine.
In a feature on computer science as a top career field, Christi details her responsibilities as Director of Front End Services, Global Information Services, and speaks to what she enjoys most about working in the IT industry. Below is an excerpt from the article:
"Once my knack for using technology was discovered, I was provided the opportunity to learn programming and support -- a mix I found perfect to blend my technical acumen and customer-service skills," she relates. Once Maruffo embarked on a career in the IT industry she never turned back. "It was an extremely exciting time and I was thrilled to join such a prestigious company as senior manager, global information services," she recalls.
