The Consistent Unpredictability of Gas Prices
There are a few things in life you can count on. Death and taxes are commonly cited. But in our business, it's the fact that the sun rises every morning. We talk a lot about how solar is a "renewable" energy source, but the meaning of that word hit home this week when natural gas prices jumped five percent.
We can’t say we’re surprised. Back in December, we noted that the price of natural gas would continue to be unpredictable – just as it has been for years. This yo-yo effect is the reason why a shift away from fossil fuel sources and toward more renewable energy would ease energy price volatility. Solar energy offers a low, fixed and consistent cost model - something we imagine most businesses would welcome after emerging from the instability the country has experienced over the past two years.
