Applied Materials Hosts Taiwan’s Top University Students

They are some of the brightest university students in Taiwan majoring in material science and engineering.  And, recently the top 10 selected students from Innovation Camp, a networking and global awareness program designed to introduce the semiconductor industry to aspiring engineers visited Applied Materials’ headquarters in Silicon Valley. 

Applied Materials Taiwan has supported the program for 10 years.  The students selected, participated in an essay competition on science topics and attended a four-day camp with fun and competitive activities.

The students had a tight itinerary during their visit to Silicon Valley.  While at Applied, the students toured the Maydan Technology Center, received a Display presentation from Kerry Cunningham, marketing manager in the Display Business Group, and toured the Display applications lab. They also met with members of various Employee Resource Groups, and participated in a volunteer activity at Resource Area for Teachers (RAFT). 

During their trip, the students also toured Stanford University and UC Berkeley, and even had a little time to explore San Francisco. 

These students are well on their way to successful careers to become the next generation of innovators and are eager and ready to contribute to the future of the semiconductor industry!
