US Under Secretary of State for Economic, Energy and Agricultural Affairs Discusses Global Competitiveness With Applied
Robert D. Hormats, Under Secretary of State for Economic, Energy and Agricultural Affairs, met with Chairman and CEO Mike Splinter and a dozen other Silicon Valley business leaders were at Applied's Silicon Valley headquarters earlier this month to discuss the importance of domestic and global competitiveness. The group covered issues including the current economic environment, the U.S. - China relationship, immigration reform and prospects for a climate change agreements.
Under Secretary Hormats is a key voice within the Obama Administration on economic and trade issues. He has met with Mike Splinter several times and makes a habit of meeting with Silicon Valley business leaders in order to obtain their perspective on major economic and trade issues.
