Taiwan-US Green Energy and Technology Delegation Visits Applied

The Taiwan-US Green Energy and Technology Delegation, led by Economic Affairs Vice Minister Dr. CJ Hwang visited Applied Materials’ Energy and Display Solutions group. The delegation came with the goal to better understand Applied’s solutions to cut solar manufacturing costs as well as gain insights into how the Taiwan government could develop energy incentives for solar cell makers. After touring the company’s Utility PV Test Lab and its thin film solar equipment center, they were “truly impressed with the company’s thin film technology development.”

Besides government officials, the delegation also included Taiwan solar cell makers, materials makers and the top management from the Industrial Technology and Research Institute (ITRI), Taiwan largest R&D organization.
