Applied Chairman and CEO Mike Splinter visited with fifth grade students at Grant Academy in San Jose earlier this week to talk to them about renewable energy and the importance of math and science in preparing for a career in the clean tech industry. Grant Academy is one of several academic institutions that are part of Applied’s Education Initiative in Silicon Valley, which takes a comprehensive approach to increasing student achievement in selected low performing schools by targeting the entire educational pathway - from pre-kindergarten through high school graduation.
