Murky Waters Spur Discussion on Future of Energy

Gary Fazzino, Applied Materials’ VP of Government Affairs, contributed to the National Journal's Energy/Enviro Experts blog this week, speaking to the need for America to transition to clean and renewable energy sources that will help stimulate the U.S. economy.

In the blog, Gary calls out solar specifically as a renewable energy resource that is abundant and readily available to meet peak power needs when electricity demand is at its highest – in the late afternoon and early evenings.  Not to mention that each doubling of installed solar capacity drives a 20-percent reduction in cost, which will enable it to become a “mainstream, affordable, free-market and self-sustaining industry.”
