Enlightenment 2.0: A Revolution in Learning
Below is the excellent video titled: “Enlightenment 2.0: A Revolution in Learning” that won 1st prize in a “Future of Electronics Innovations” video competition as part of the Young Talent Outreach Program, which aims to inspire students in Singapore to pursue a career in Engineering.
You can watch all the winning videos (which are seriously worth your time) here.
The competition, part of the Young Talent Outreach Program, was launched by the semiconductor trade association SEMI and the Singapore Semiconductor Industry Association (SSIA), with support from the Singapore Economic Development Board in an effort to help nurture the future talent pool for the electronics industry.
Russell Tham, President of Applied Materials South East Asia and head of SEMI’s Singapore workforce development regional advisory board, was one of the judges. Regarding this fun competition he said, “Interactive educational platforms are necessary to help students make the critical connection between classroom learning and the real world. SEMI Singapore is committed to engaging students with abundant opportunities to help them understand the importance of the electronics industry. Through this positive learning approach we hope that students will develop an enhanced understanding about the electronics industry which will inspire them to explore a career in engineering.”
Students across Singapore were asked to produce a video along the theme of “The Impact of Electronics Innovations on Future Lifestyle, Quality of Life and Development.” Ten schools and 25 teams participated in the video competition. The submissions definitely far exceeded audience expectations.
The winners were announced recently at a ceremony held during SEMICON Singapore. It was inspiring to see how farsighted these young students were in their depictions of the future.
