Ten Years of Trotting!

The 2014 Applied Materials Silicon Valley Turkey Trot consisted of 26,533 trotters including elite runners, wheelchair athletes, CEOs with teams of employees, parents with strollers, and visitors from around the world. Most importantly, this event brought together the diversity of the Valley to benefit those in need, served by Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties, the Healthier Kids Foundation, the Housing Trust, the Health Trust and Second Harvest of Santa Cruz County.

Employees Pack 66,000 Boxes to Help End Hunger

It was truly a sight to see more than 200 of our employees and their families all gathered at Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties on Saturday morning. What were they all doing? Packing 6,000 boxes of nutritious meals at Applied Materials' 18th annual Helping Hands Day for delivery to individuals and families in need in Silicon Valley during the holidays.

Applied Materials hosted United States Congressman Mike Honda and members of the newly formed Silicon Valley STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Advisory Board to discuss advancing STEM programs throughout schools across the U.S. to ensure that the children of today have the educational background to become the tech innovators of tomorrow.
